Makes 8

Ingredients

  • 8 apples
  • 450 g demerara sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 150 ml water
  • melted chocolate

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients except the apples and chocolate in a pan and bring to the boil.
  2. Boil rapidly for 8-10 minutes.
  3. Push sticks into the apples, dip into the toffee and coat evenly. Leave to set on greaseproof paper.
  4. Once dry, dip into melted chocolate and again leave to set.
