Makes 16

Ingredients

  • 300g chocolate (milk, dark, white or a mixture)
  • 75g butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 175g caster sugar
  • 175g self raiseing flour
  • 175g hazelnuts, shelled and roughly chopped

Method

  1. Grease and line an 11" x 7" cake tin.
  2. Melt 1/3 of the chocolate with the butter in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the reamining chocolate.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and sugar. Stir in the chocolate mixture and the hazelnuts.
  5. Pour into the tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 45 minutes.
  6. Leave to cool in the tin, then cut into 16 triangles.
