Serves 3

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb beef steak, chopped into chunks
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 2 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 1/2 pint beef stock

Method

  1. Fry the staek in a pan. Once cooked, remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Place the onion into the empty pan and cook until it starts to soften.
  3. Add the carrot and continue to fry for a further 4 minutes. Add the mushrooms.
  4. After 1 minute, take the pan from the heat and stir in the tomato puree, flour and stock.
  5. Return to the heat, stirring continuously. Bring to the boil, simmer for five minutes then stir in the beef.
  6. Cover and continue to cook for a further 15 minutes.
  7. Serve with sliced, cooked potatoes.
